  • Monumental Chandelier
  • signed and dated twice Patrice Dangel 2010
  • plaster, gilt bronze

Provenance

Condition

Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, the chandelier presents with monumental scale and the surfaces present with some irregularities and nuances to the plaster, visible in the catalogue illustration and inherent in the making. A few areas to the edges of the chandelier where some fibers are visible under the plaster, which is inherent in the making and not visually distracting. The plaster with a few minor surface scratches and minor shallow chips consistent with age and gentle use. Scattered surface dirt concentrated to the edges. The center disc element with two hairline shallow cracks to the plaster, only visible upon close inspection and superficial. A minor loss to the upper edge of the cone ceiling cap, not visible once the chandelier is installed. The gilt bronze with a few minor surface scratches and minor wear consistent with age and gentle use. A superb work by Patrice Dangel. The chandelier was a special commissioned by Brian McCarthy for his office in 2006 and presents with spectacular scale when viewed first hand.
