Condition
Overall in very good condition. The catalogue illustration accurately represents the coloration of the chairs’ upholstery and wooden surfaces . The wooden surfaces of both chairs with general scratches and minor abrasions and areas of discoloration consistent with age and use, concentrated to the feet. The wood with minor evidence of sun damage and wear to the finish, particularly on the armrests. The proper right armrest of one chair with a small crack and associated loss to the wood where the armrest joins to the backrest, measuring approximately ¾ inch long. The same armrest with a small area of apparent water damage. The same chair with a chip that has been reglued measuring approximately 1.5 inches long to the interior edge of the proper left armrest where the armrest joins to the backrest. The proper left armrest of the other chair with one scuff to the top measuring approximately ½ inch wide. The chairs have been reupholstered sometime in the recent history of the piece with a rich midnight blue velvet that is in excellent condition. The upholstery with one faint area of wear above the proper right back leg of one of the chairs, measuring approximately ½ inch long. An elegant pair of armchairs, ready to use.
