of olive form, elegantly potted with an ovoid body rising from a slightly flared foot to a gently flared rim, covered overall in a rich and luminous blue glaze stopping neatly at the rim and foot, the white base inscribed with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue, elaborate carved wood stand

Provenance

Collection of a Dorset family, and thence by descent.

Condition

There is an approx. 2 cm area of retouching to the rim to conceal an original firing imperfection. There is general surface wear and minor scratching.
