of rectangular section, flanked by a pair of curved upright handles, the exterior worked in relief with a pair of taotie marks, the cover decorated with a band of lappets, surmounted by a mythical beast

Collection of Nakakado Hisao.
Condition
The censer and cover are in good overall condition. There is insignificant bruising and nibbling to the fragile edges and extremities, including the corners, rims and edges of the handles. As visible in the catalogue photo, there are natural veins to the stone.
