Catalogue Note
The present washer belongs to a group of innovative porcelains produced during the early Kangxi period, under the supervision of Zang Yingxuan, superintendent at Jingdezhen between 1681-88. Under Zang, potters at Jingdezhen produced entirely new shapes and designs later known as Zang yao or ‘Zang wares’.
