Description

  • 22 cm, 8 5/8  in.
each of conical form, delicately painted around the exterior with four large floral medallions enclosing the flowers of the 'Four Seasons,' peony, chrysanthemum, lotus and prunus, among a dense undergrowth of foliage and grasses, each divided and enclosed by detached foliate scrollwork, the interior decorated with a central medallion enclosing two butterflies fluttering among flowering sprigs

Condition

One bowl had been broken into four and reattached with original pieces, with an associated small rim chip (approx. 0.3x0.2cm) and minor losses to the foot (widest 0.7cm). There is a 3.7cm vertical hairline to the exterior of the bowl. The other bowl has two hairlines measuring approx. 7cm and 8cm, and is in otherwise good condition. Surface scratches and minor enamel wear to both.
