Catalogue Note

Like earlier iterations of the 5170 chronograph, the platinum version introduced in 2017 used Patek Philippe's in-house manually wound chronograph calibre CH 29-535 PS movement, which replaced the previously used modified Lemania movement. However, what perhaps sets this version of the 5170 apart from its peers, aside from the sporty tachometer scale and the introduction of the platinum case, is its inky blue and black radiating sunburst dial. The subtle addition of the diamond set hour markers undoubtedly give it an extra special interstellar allure. Like its predecessor the 5070P, this rare version was introduced just one year before the production of the 5170 ceased.
