Catalogue Note

The reference 116600 was introduced at Baselworld in 2014. Rolex had discontinued the standard Sea-Dweller in favor of introducing the Sea-Dweller Deepsea in 2008, which has a depth rating of 3900m (12800 ft). After 6 years Rolex then re-introduced a modernized, slightly slimmer and less bulky looking Sea-Dweller, which became a instant success. However this reference was only produced for around three years. The Sea-Dweller reference 126600 has replaced the Sea-Dweller 4000 in 2018. Even though it being a relatively modern Rolex, this watch has now become a collectible timepiece in its own right, due to the short production run and the increased wearability in comparison to the Deepsea. The watch also features a 40mm case and all the modern innovations, such as the cerachrom bezel insert and the “Maxi Dial” with larger lume plots that use Chromalight instead of SuperLumiNova.

The present lot is in good condition and comes as a full set, making it not only an attractive piece for a novice but also for the seasoned collector.
