Catalogue Note

RARE. A DETAILED OFFICIAL REPORT ON THE MILITARY STATE OF PERSIA AFTER THE FIRST WORLD WAR. The report includes "Persia's external and internal dangers, her existing armed forces, laws and institutions, communications and fertility and financial situation so far as armed forces are concerned ... a scheme for [a] Persian army ... and steps which should be taken to give effect to the scheme" (preface). The report recommended the formation of a single uniform army, under British control.
