A RARE REPORT ON OPERATION ELEPHANT, MARKED “SECRET”, detailing the fifteen-day implementation of British martial law in Mandatory Palestine in March 1947. Martial law was imposed following eight terrorist attacks against the British by Zionist militant organisations Irgun and Lehi. ONLY ONE INSTITUTIONAL COPY CAN BE TRACED, in the Stockwell papers at the Liddel Hart Centre for Military Archives.
