RARE BROADSIDES dealing with the Arab riots of 1929, caused by dispute between Arab and Jewish communities over access to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and culminating in the Hebron massacre of 24 August. Chancellor’s Proclamation attests that that those arrested will be tried by British judges and that impartiality will be assured regardless of race or creed and that individuals on both sides will be punished for any criminal behaviour. It was the second such broadside, the previous one on 1 September was felt by Arab organisations to be biased, and was superseded by this one. Rabbi Sonnenfeld was chief Rabbi of the old Ashkenazi Jewish community. His Message is an impassioned plea for peace following the upheavals.
