  • Album of 36 photographs of Constantinople. [c.1880s]
Oblong folio (290 x 388mm.), 36 albumen prints (average 215 x 275mm., or the reverse), mounted on thick card, recto and verso, all signed, numbered and/or titled in the negative, one captioned in ink on mount, contemporary red morocco, gilt and embossed, titled "Vues de Constantinople" on upper cover, some wear to prints, minor fading, slightly rubbed with very small loss to spine ends

Catalogue Note

Guillaume Berggren (1835-1920) was a Swedish immigrant who settled in Constantinople in 1866 and produced fine photographs of the city.
