The canvas has not been lined. There is a pattern of hairline craquelure throughout, however not too distracting. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals areas of fluorescence which appear to be associated with traces of old residual varnish. A small circa 5 by 2cm area of retouching is visible in the centre of the sky. Some other, minor, isolated spots are also visible in the tower to the left and in the sky in the upper left quadrant. Otherwise, this work presents well and is overall in good condition. This work is ready to hang.
