Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There is some hairline craquelure in the upper half of the composition visible upon close inspection. Some faint stretcher marks corresponding to the upper and central stretcher members are also visible under raking light. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals some isolated spots of cosmetic retouching, including one spot in the sitter's right hand and some fine in-painting in her face. Otherwise, this work is in good condition and is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
