The painting is on a single piece of panel which has a vertical grain; the panel only shows some very minor beveling along its top edge on the reverse. The painted surface seems to be in a good condition with some minor retouched surface scratches and indents; a possible repaired vertical minor crack runs at ca. 8 cm from the left edge. We notice some crude small areas of retouching in the lower right corner in the table cloth and to the right of it. The painted surface is covered with a dirty and some discolored varnish layer. The pattern craquelure is fine and dense. Under the UV light The varnish layer fluoresces for the larger part showing the retouchings in and around the table cloth as mentioned above, some in the left background and some strenghtenings visible in the oranges and near the tin plates. Offered with a carved and giltwood frame.
