  • elephant ivory; on an elephant ivory and tortoiseshell base
  • 9.5 cm overall; 3 2/3 in.

Private collection, Germany.

Condition

Minor surface dirt, notably in the crevices, and stable vertical hairline splitting visible in some places, consistent with the material. A few ivory worms are missing where empty holes are visible. The tortoiseshell marquetry with many scratches visible along the edge.
