Catalogue Note

Delpy was a pupil of Charles-François Daubigny and painted landscapes by the river Seine and the river Oise, which show his master's influence. He also painted beautiful marines and ports of Normandy and Brittany. The picture presented here could be a view of boats at low tide in Cancale (Brittany).
