Provenance

The artist's posthumous sale, Paris December 7th-8th, 1891 ;

Condition

The drawing is on 2 sheets of paper and not 3. The left sheet is folded vertically and there is a tear in the bottom of about 2 cm long. Heightened with gouache. The added sheet on the right part seems glued to the other one’s edge and it is sewn : the threads are very visible on the back and 5 stitches are visible on the reverse. 2 small tiny lacks are visible along the edges : one in the lower part below the date, and one in the upper left part near the sheet’s articulation. Some pinholes are visible on the edges, especially on the top right and on the bottom right. On the back : in the middle, a sketch in pencil representing a river ; on the right : an inscription in ink "à la Tronche / Grenoble". The colours are fresh and the drawing is in very good condition.
