Condition

The painting appears to be less contrasted than the photograph would suggest. Colors are softer in the actual painting. To the naked eye : The painting appears to be in a good overall condition. The canvas has been relined and is well stretched. We notice some wears especially in the browns and in the folds of the curtains on the right. Under UV light : A homogeneous varnish is distributed on the painted surface. Restorations are visible in the browns especially along the frame edges.
