Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut 1985 Slightly scuffed labels, excellent reverse ullages, color, and clarityI gave this 100 points in the historic Millennium Champagne tasting in Stockholm and, in 2016 from magnum, it is still a classy, beauteous wine, marrying maturity with freshness. It has the creamy harmony and lacy finesse of texture we expect in Cristal, amplifying on the palate and with a glorious, silky send-off. This has to be a lesson in Champagne making.
