Catalogue Note

The arms are those of Chodkiewicz, a very important Latvian family, whose coat-of-arms are incorporated in the arms if Latvia. This beaker has probably been made for Jan Mikotaj Chodkiewicz (1738-1781), lord of Samogita, Earl of Szktow and Nowa Mita, colonel of the Vilnius province, governor of Wielu.
