Description

  • 12.5cm., 8⅛in. high
the pair of flower-pots of flared square section with canted corners, painted in shades of blue with chinoisierie figures and flowers, the bases each pierced with five drainage holes, blue ITD/12 and 104 marks to both, 9cm., 3½in. high; the wall pocket, probably Liverpool, moulded with masks and scrolls and enriched in shades of blue, manganese, green, yellow and iron red, pierced twice for hanging

Condition

All three items with typical delftware glaze chipping and flaking, in more detail: the jardinières: one has a chip to the corner of one foot, approx. 1 inch (2.5cm.) wide and a small chip to rim and a short hairline crack from the rim; both with minor glaze chipping and flaking. wall pocket: overall in good order with typical glaze flaking to the moulded relief and a small chip to the reverse upper right edge. The red and purple enamels are quite pale.
