Description

  • 31.5 cm, 12 3/8  in.
modelled as a recumbent elephant with beaded garlands and caparisoned in tasselled mantles all below a raised support, covered overall with aubergine blue, green and yellow glazes, wood stand

Condition

There are many areas with over-spray (visible under the UV light), possibly due to restoration, including the snout, the eyes, the edge of the ears, the rim, the tail, the harnesses, the tail and the edge of the base. There are some chips and losses to the base, as well as a hole in the middle filled with a cork-material plug. The surface with some scratches and wear.
