Description

  • 61.5 cm, 24 in.
the cylindrical body rising from a short straight foot to an angled shoulder and tall neck with broad everted rim, finely painted around the exterior in iron-red with scholars and children on a terrace

Condition

This large and impressive vase has a circa 20cm., wide V-shaped hairline body crack running from the shoulder down the body circa 30cm., and extending by circa 9cm., around the shoulder, two crescent-shaped cracks and associated over-painting to approximately half of the rim and light glaze scratches around the body.
