Description

  • 34.1 cm, 13 3/8  in.
the gently rounded sides rising from a short straight foot, boldly enamelled with a scene from the Romance of the Western Chamber, all encircled by panelled auspicious symbols reserved against green stippled ground, the reverse decorated with further auspicious motifs, the base with an apocryphal four-character Xuande mark within a double circle

Condition

The dish has a circa 3cm., restored hairline rim crack, rim fritting , several small areas of miss-firing to the blue enamel and light glaze scratches.
