Description

  • 9.8 cm, 3 7/8  in.
depicted recumbent, the vermillion-red sections of the stone skilfully carved as its slightly turned head, with a lingzhi stem in its mouth, detailed with a snout flanked by curling whiskers below a pair of bulging eyes and a prominent horn, a smaller mythical beast clambering and a curled upswept tail at the rear, the milky-white part of the stone forming its muscular body and a pronounced spine, wood stand

Condition

The carving is in good condition with the exception of some minor pitting around a natural fissure at the tail.
