- 33.1 cm, 13 in.
of square section, rising from a flat base to an angled shoulder and a slightly waisted neck, elaborately painted to the body with immortals holding respective attributes amidst scrolling clouds and rolling waves, below a band of shou roundels alternating with ruyi-clouds at the shoulder and neck, a band of floral border near the foot
Condition
The rim of the vessel was reduced and polished. There are some glaze cracks, including an approx. 'Y'-shape one, to the area above the shoulder. There is also a long crack to approx. 1/2 of the area just above the foot. Both of the above may have occurred in the manufacturing process. Further firing imperfections include burst bubbles, firing cracks and adhered grits and minor losses to the base.
