Description

  • 35 cm, 13 1/2  in.
the straight-sides slightly stepped and domed cover decorated in green and aubergine enamels on a bright blue ground, with a central medallion of gilded bats in flight over a floral scroll ground, the straight-sided box similarly decorated and supported on four ruyi-shaped feet, the interior with a circular footed tray, surrounded by eight footed trays similarly decorated, the interior of the box and cover and the undersides of the trays enameled yellow

An American Collection, purchased in the 1960's. 

Condition

The box and cover are in good condition with the exception of small areas of restoration and over-painting to the enamel on each of the ruyi-shaped feet of the base, to the yellow enamel on the rims of four of the internal footed trays and to the round central tray, and some scratches and rubbing to the gilded decoration.
