Description

  • 7.2 cm, 2 3/4  in.
of cylindrical form, the top carved in three colours with three cinnabar lacquer double-gourds emerging from leafy stems issuing blossoms and tendrils, all against diaper ground, the deep sides carved with a geometric wan pattern, the base incised with a stylised central blossom, the interiors lacquered black

Condition

This box and cover are in good condition overall, with the exception of some minor surface wear, 2 small chips with associated losses to the rim of the box (the larger approx. 0.4 x 0.3 cm). There are also some refreshing to the lacquer, in particular to the sides of the box.
