Description

  • 16.4 cm, 6 1/2  in.
naturalistically carved in the form of a large furled lotus leaf pad with a small conch shell on the rim, the underside with four birds perching amidst stems curling up the side issuing lotus buds and leaves, the polished stone with areas of icy pale green and bright green patches, gilt-silver stand

Condition

This jadeite washer is in overall good condition, although the areas beneath the mount cannot be examined. There are some minor surface wear and minute nicks to the extremities. There is also small area of restoration to the centre of the interior with associated infills visible from the base (approx. 1.1 x 0.9 cm). The actual colour is more of a transculent green colour than the catalogue illustration.
