La poignée ornée d'une tête d'oiseau de ce bol très raffiné laisse supposer qu'il était utilisé en tant que louche. Voir Kelemen, Medieval American Art, 1943, pl. 95, pour un bol de ce style. This finely carved low bowl may have served as a dipper, with the handle in the form of a birds' head. See Kelemen, Medieval American Art, 1943, pl. 95, for the type.
