Description

  • 20.9 cm, 8 1/4  in.
skilfully carved to depict two overlapping lotus leaves with furled edges forming an undulating rim of the vessel, the interior of each leaf incised with veins radiating from a stamen, the underside similarly incised with veins and further decorated with two curling stems, the tightly grained wood of a dark reddish-brown colour with characteristic flecks

Condition

Good condition with just a minute area of shrinkage where the two leaves meet, not visible with the eye. Minor surface wear at the rim.
