Description

  • Diameter of widest 5 1/4  in., 13.3 cm
comprising a 'landscape' bowl with an apocryphal Jiajing mark on the base; a 'floral' bowl with chang ming fu gui (long life, riches, and honor) inscribed on the base; and a fluted 'bird and flower' bowl (3)

Condition

The 'landscape' bowl with rim frits and shallow chips. The interior with a few small kiln adhesions and some short firing tears. There is wear overall and the surface is somewhat matte indicating that the bowl is likely salvage ware. The 'Flower' bowl with surface and glaze ware, particularly along the rim which has a glazed over incipient chip. The interior with some accretions and a long C-form glaze crack. The surface is matte indicating the this bowl is also likely salvage ware. The 'Bird and Flower' Bowl has frits to the rim and a consolidated flake chip to the foot. There is some wear and minor imperfections consistent with age and type.
