Condition

Saleroom inspection recommended. Movement not inspected by a piano specialist and the instrument is not tuned. It is however of superior quality but being sold as a decorative object. The instrument shows evidence of sensitive conservation but the wooden soundboard with very small splits along grain in a few localised areas. The case would benefit from restoration. There is a repaired break to shaped stretcher by foot pedals which would benefit from further attention. There is a detached bun foot for central stretcher which needs to be re-attached. The piano was placed by a window – see catalogue image - and has a number of associated condition issues including bleaching along one side, with variation to colour throughout, age cracks, chips to extremities and movement and losses to veneers. Watermarks to stretcher on sun bleached side. One finial re-glued. Please see sale room notice for additional provenance.
