Catalogue Note

The Grey Parrot originates from West and Central Africa.  The species has long been very popular as a cage bird due to its more advanced vocal skills than other types of parrot. Jan Hendrik Nicolai, born in Leeuwarden, exhibited natural history works at the Amsterdam Felix Meritis society in 1814, 1816 and 1818.
