Condition

Executed on cream wove cardboard, not laid down, built-in in the overmount and affixed to the overmount along all four edges of the reverse with restorer tape. There is a chip to the tip of the lower left corner and some marks, possibly related to paper clips, towards the centre of the right edge (not visible when framed). The cardboard is slightly light stained with some scattered dots of oxydation. This work is in overall good condition.

Catalogue Note

This work is the original invitation card, printed in negative for the exhibition of paintings, gouaches and drawings of the artist at the Julien Levy gallery in New York from 12 to 30 January 1937. This exhibition was one of the first single exhibitions of the artist.
