Catalogue Note

After having been damaged at its lower part, this work was shown to Pablo Picasso. Picasso chose the present frame to conceal the area in question and then executed a flower bouquet at the centre of the mount on August 6, 1959 in order to transform the piece into a new work of art.

Claude Picasso has confirmed the authenticity of this work.
