Condition
The colours are fairly accurate in the printed catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is much deeper and less contrasted in the original work. Please refer to the Contemporary Department for installation shots (joelle.koops@sotheby.com). The work is executed on its original canvas and is not relined. The corners present wear marks. The creases of the thick impasto's are slightly dusty. The canvas has undulated. There is a tiny pinhole to the lower left corner. Few of the thicker impasto's present tiny losses at the extremities. A loss is located in the black area in the lower right quadrant. The white area in the lower right quadrant presents a stabilised uplift and small loss. The black areas along the lower right and upper left edge present stable hairline cracks. The thick impasto's present stable cracks. Under ultra violet light inspection no areas fluoresce. This work is in good condition.
