Condition

The structure appears to be sound. The surface consists of rocks, pebbles and small pieces of gravel, which almost entirely appear to be securely adhered. There are some very fine lines of cracking to the outer edges of the work in a few places, where the top layer joins the frame. It is possible that there are one or two minor historic losses to the work but if so they are not readily apparent. There is surface dirt, and minor instances of studio matter and surface detritus but these largely appear to be in keeping with the Artists' intentions. This excepting, the work appears in excellent overall condition. The work is unframed. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
