Condition

The sheet is secured to the mount with a number of adhesive tabs. The edges of the sheet are slightly deckled and the sheet undulates slightly in places in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There appear to be two historic pinholes at the centre of the upper edge, however they appear to have a layer of gouache over them and as such are slightly obscured. There are a number of instances of craquelure and associated loss, and these are almost exclusively restricted to the yellow pigment. There is craquelure in the yellow pigment in the lower right quadrant, at the centre of the left edge and in the upper left quadrant, there are flecks off loss at each of these areas, there are a few flecks of loss elsewhere. There is some extremely minor craquelure in the orange pigment at the centre of the left edge, not visible in the present mount. There are some minor scuffs to the surface in places including to the bright pink pigment in the lower left, and some very light surface dirt and studio detritus. This excepting the work appears to be in good overall condition. The sheet is window mounted and held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
