Condition

The board appears to be sound. There are some minor nicks and flecks of loss along each edge, predominantly at the lower edge, not visible in the present mount. There are some isolated spots of staining, including to the central passage and in the brown pigment. There are a few scuffs to the brown pigment, and some very minor possible craquelure in the black pigment. There is some surface dirt and studio matter. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals some fluorescence in keeping with the hand of the Artist. The work is held within a simple wooden frame, behind glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
