Redfern Gallery, London, where acquired by Michael Howard, London Thos. Agnew & Sons, London Private Collection, U.K. Their sale, Christie's London, 6th November 1998, lot 131, where acquired by the present owner
London, Redfern Gallery, Alan Reynolds, 6th - 30th September 1960, cat. no.7.
The board appears sound and very slightly bowed. There are small nicks and flecks of loss at all four edges, predominantly at the left and upper edges. There appears to be some evidence of bloom in the central passage, largely towards the right edge. There is some very light surface dirt and studio matter. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
Inspection under ultra violet light reveals one localised area of retouching in the lower left quadrant.
The work is held within an aluminium slip, and floated within a larger wooden frame with a further aluminium front.
