Condition

The sheet has been laid down on a supportive board. The upper and lower edges are uneven. There are Artist's pinholes at the upper right and lower right corners. The sheet is very slightly time stained, and some pigments are slightly faded, notably in the browns. There is some craquelure in the thicker areas of gouache, in particular in the yellows at the right hand side, the black in the centre and in one or two places elsewhere. There is a small amount of associated loss. There are one or two tiny accretions and some light surface dirt. There is also some possible studio matter. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
