Emilio Mazzoli, in Luca Ronchi, Mario Schifano Una biografia, p. 254

"(...) When he had ideas, to see him working was like hearing a concert, watching an orchestra, fresh water flowing from a spring, it was a thing ... For example, how he chose colors, a very difficult task. It was a kind of dance, he estranged himself from the world with these jars and canvases on the floor, sang North African songs, perhaps childhood memories of when he was in Libya with his father, and he made incredible paintings."
