Rincorre la cavallina ora bianca, ora rosa, ora bigia, pura, ardente.
Aderire le mie narici al suo collo diritto.
Tuffare il mio muso fumante nella sua criniera di calici sanguigni al vento.
Godere - saltare - nitrire...
Vampate verdi sulla pancia mongolfiera e spazzolate d'oro sulle anche nevose.
Gioia di calpestare la terra: gioia di offrire la pelle al vento. Girotondo dietro la coda di un bimbo.
Scendere per i sentieri tortuosi a piedi giunti e coda alzata.
Balzo, scatto, mi raddrizzo, fischio e cincischio e frr frr frrremo nel galoppo.
Balzano le colline - rotolano le tonde teste degli ippocastani.
Le case scompaiono sgomente con il cielo negli occhi."

Vampe galoppanti è un grande affresco di "riconciliazione" tra la Natura e la Città che Depero simboleggia con questa corsa di cavalli dai casolari alpini verso le case di una città, baciati da una solarità quasi fumettistica. Vi riprende le sue tipiche tipologie alpine: a sinistra, le austere case delle tavole per l'Ente Turismo, a destra l'inconfondibile sagoma aerodinamica di Nitrito in velocità.

Green flames on the hot air balloon of the belly and brushed with gold on her snowy flanks.
The joy of treading the earth: the joy of offering her skin to the wind. A round dance behind the tail of a baby.
To go down the winding paths with feet together and tail raised.
I leap, I spring, I straighten up, whistle and dawdle and shh shh shhudder in my gallop.
The hills are leaping about - the round heads of the horse chestnuts roll.
The houses disappear stunned with the sky in the eyes."
“Vampe galoppanti is a veritable fresco of ‘reconciliation’ between Nature and the City that Depero symbolises with this horse race from the alpine farmhouses to the houses of a city, kissed by an almost cartoonish sunlight. It recalls the artist’s typical alpine typologies: to the left, the austere houses of the Tourism Board, to the right, the unmistakable aerodynamic shape of Nitrito in velocità.”
