Château Calon Ségur 2009 St. Estèphe, 3ème Cru Classé90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot. For the first time here, 100% new wood. The Cabernet Sauvignon was so ripe this year, while the Merlot had high alcohol, hence the high percentage of the former. In 2018, this is an opulent, plummy, even 'oriental' wine of the utmost delight. It melts in the mouth - archetypal 2009 and a total crowd pleaser.
