Of Renaissance revival-style, the lozenge-shaped openwork plaque decorated with square-cut emeralds and sapphires and cushion-cut rubies, further enhanced with seed pearls and an old mine-cut diamond in the center, within borders of white, blue, black and pink enamel, anchored by a pearl drop, the reverse decorated in a pastel floral pattern of pink, blue and white champlevé enamel, the center with a circular compartment for a souvenir, signed C.G.; circa 1880. In very good condition given the age of this piece. Mounting tests as 18 karat gold. Signed C.G in an oval on the back of the oval bale. The front of the lozenge-shaped pendant is in excellent condition, but note small losses to the blue enamel on the reverse side, near the top and left side of the top medallion. There are losses to the enamel on the caps of the pearl pendant; and there is a repair at the joint of the pendant and the lozenge with traces of solder around the loop at the base of the plaque. Gemstones and diamond with small abrasions and chips visible under 10x magnification. Length approximately 3½ inches. With fitted red velvet Wartski box.
