Description

The necklace designed as a series of hematite and gold links, to the front set with cabochon rubies, accented by brilliant-cut diamonds, length approximately 365mm; and a pair of earrings, each set with hematite beads and brilliant-cut diamonds, post and hinged back fittings; both mounted in 18 karat yellow gold, signed Bulgari, Italian assay and maker's marks.

Condition

Both signed BVLGARI, with Italian assay marks for 18 karat yellow gold, and with Italian maker's marks; necklace with maker's mark for Bulgari, stamped 3R.10.89 cts referring to the total weight of the rubies; earrings stamped 1989 referring to the year of make. Rubies are of medium purplish red colour and medium strong saturation, under 10x magnification there are typical inclusions with some surface reaching, some nicks and tiny chips. Hematites overall in good condition, with minor scratches, a few pieces in the necklace with nicks and tiny chips at the edges, but all are not noticeable when worn. Diamonds are bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal, with minor tarnish. Overall in good condition.
