Wonderful World of Webb

David Webb, one of the most celebrated jewelers of America, has been recognized for being at the forefront of intrepid, creative, modern jewellery for over 70 years. At the young age of 23, Webb opened his first shop on 57th Street, Manhattan, New York, leading his path to becoming a jeweler to the most elite stars and socialites.

Coined the “Houdini of gold, David Webb’s ambition was to make the new look old”, after studying gold objects from the Incas, Turkey, Syria and Egyptian artifacts, he refashioned them in his own hand. Webb’s fascination with collecting antiquities, particularly Chinese works, heavily influenced the motifs found in his striking masterpieces, bringing about timeless designs, fit to last decades.

The meticulous attention to detail and highly skilled craftsmanship valued by Webb is flawlessly exemplified in Lot 1632, a diamond bracelet, which stands the test of time exuding elegance, whilst remaining strikingly stylish. David Webb mastered the art of reinventing fine jewellery into captivating jewellery; boldly created and boldly worn.
