Description

Of jardinière design, one terminal set with a carved emerald and cabochon rubies and sapphires, decorated with single-cut diamonds, to the other terminal set with a cabochon emerald, embellished with diamonds and sapphires, mounted in platinum, signed Cartier, numbered, French assay marks, circa 1930, fitted case stamped Cartier.

Condition

Signed CARTIER and numbered 3523. Stamped BTE S.G.D.G and with French assay marks for platinum. Carved emerald estimated to weigh approximately 2.50 - 3.00 carats, is of medium green colour and medium saturation, under 10x magnification, there are typical surface reaching inclusions, some minor chips and abrasion, some dark specks. Cabochon emerald of similar material. Rubies of medium purplish-red colour and medium; and sapphires of medium dark violetish blue colour and medium strong saturation; under 10x magnification, rubies and sapphires on average are with minor typical inclusions, some abrasions and nicks, a few with minor chips but are not noticeable to the naked eye. Diamonds are bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal commensurate with age. Overall in good condition. Fitted case stamped Cartier.
